Art Director, Space Ranger Roger - DHX Studios

Location Design
Space Ranger Roger is a show that I helped to Art Direct and has 3d characters but with 2d painted backdrops. Due to severe time restraints, we had to make the show as feasible as possible so we came up with a technique to collage together photos from iStock and then paint over them to add lighting volume and specularity. I would rough out all the backgrounds and colours and then send them off to the designs to paint. I had a total of 10 painters and designers working with me in the art department.

These are some concepts that I painted for the shows opening sequence.

These were some BGs that I created to explore the style of the show and to see how much time it would take for me to do, that way I would know how long it would take each painter to paint a BG.

And these are some rough character designs of Roger that I did.

Designer, Inspector Gadget - DHX Studios

These are just a couple of designs I created for Inspector Gadget.
